Lijepe rijeci od naseg prijatelja i druga Travis Conley-a: UNITE THE WORLD. Sport unites the world. It breaks down barriers, transcends cultures, it creates commonality where there is none, hope where there is no hope. I just spent 40 days arduously working throughout Europe, teaching Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu seminars. An incredible journey, fast, full of so many emotions, realities and perspectives Im finding it very difficult to reflect and center myself again. 10 countries, some 40 different cities, places uncommon, 19 flights, countless trains, busses, rides, different place to lay my head down nearly every night...Through it all, all the stories, places, people, madness, close calls...one thing remains true and dominant, in the forefront of my mind: Sport unites the world. At times I was reaching, gambling, using my instincts and just simply believing in the human spirit, trusting complete strangers with my care, my life...and each time it turned out, immediately a bond was formed, many friends made, language spoken not necessarily in speak, but on the mats. I worked so hard in each seminar, gave it my all, listened to the people, talked with them, shared stories, and revealed the power of the one true international language: heart. The limited totality of my foreign languages did not matter, people could read me, and I could read them through Heart. Through sports. I can think of no other medium in the world that makes this possible. In all the bad, horrible stuff always circulating, going on in the world today, through hardships, differences, history, politics, stereotypes...through war, genocide...sport unites the world. We need sport for the enhancement and survival of the human spirit. To all the wonderful people, all these countries that have affected me these past 40 days, everyone here thats followed this journey, to this entire great world, all I can say is simply: Thank-you Lets keep uniting the world.
