I recently stumbled upon a great program that I want to share… Our house was built in the mid 60’s and was in need of attic insulation badly. In the process of shopping insulation contractors, I contacted Williams Energy Efficiency in Barling who turned me on to the OG&E free weatherization program. We just got our attic blown with 12 inches of cellulose insulation, a custom-made attic fan insulated cover installed , all of our light bulbs changed out with energy saving bulbs, a smoke detector and a carbon monoxide detector, window and door caulking and weather stripping checked and replaced if necessary, the entire furnace closet checked, sealed and insulated as necessary. We had about $2000.00 in work completed in about three hours, and absolutely free!! If you are interested, contact the Community Services Clearinghouse @ 479-782-5074 and get on the waiting list.
