I recorded the old tape that my mother recorded on my new voice - TopicsExpress

I recorded the old tape that my mother recorded on my new voice recorder to put in a file in my computer so I can share it with others. It is the almost hour long tape that my mother recorded of a gathering at her home of her two sister in-laws, Margaret Thompsen Graves and Betty Thompsen Davis (of Clarinda, Iowa). Melvin Graves, Margarets husband was at the gathering along with their daughter, Pamela S Maassen and Pams son Danny and of course my step father, Paul Thompsen. This is where I heard my mother say that this song was her grandmothers favorite song. Thanks Mom for recording this fun gathering. Her guests did not know they were being recorded, which was perfectly alright as everything that was said was perfectly proper. The reason I know that they did not realize they were being recorded is that Margaret thought that their singing was pretty awful, and that the next time they had such a sing along, she was going to record it. Her sister, Betty lamented that her singing voice was very poor, not nearly as good as it used to be. I was so happy to come across the secret recording that I would never harshly judge their singing voices, they sounded wonderful to me! That group would never fear being recorded secretly, believe me. This song I have shared here, Cora Pinkham Hannnas favorite song, would have been recorded five years before my mother, Grace, and her first cousin, Cora Hanna Owen were born one day apart.
