I remember 11/17/13 like it was yesterday. Tylers brother and sister come rushing over to our house with their daughter, telling everyone to get in the basement because there were tornados right outside. Sure enough, I walk outside and right across the street I see a tornado trying to touch down. After the tornado passed I go outside and look at the black clouds behind our house and little did I know at that exact moment, Washington was being destroyed and families were losing everything they owned. I felt like I could feel the sadness in the community. So even though I was a little over 8 month pregnant, (and little did I know I was 13 days away from having Camden) I did all I could to help, including volunteering for 12 hours strait at the former East Peoria Event Center. Taking donations, organizing them, and helping families find what they need. Its amazing to see how far Washington has come in just one year. From being almost nothing to a town again. Of course, it will never be the same. All of the brand new houses will never really replaces the families HOMES. #washingtonstrong
