I remember Kerry when she found out she was pregnant and after - TopicsExpress

I remember Kerry when she found out she was pregnant and after that Ive received updates now and then. Heres her story: Here are some more pics for you to show my progression, from one month before I got pregnant to now, 10 months post partum. I started from scratch two weeks post partum and have been consistent with my workouts since then. I was immediately down to my starting weight of 147, but I still had an extra 20 pounds to lose that I gained before I got pregnant due to hypothyroidism. There was a solid 12-16 weeks where the scale didnt budge and I was growing increasingly discouraged and frustrated, but I never stopped getting my workouts in because I knew that even if I never lost the fat or saw the changes, I was at least doing something good for my body and being a good role model for my daughter. Strength became my new focus, not necessarily weight or looks. Then suddenly the weight started to drop and the hard work started to show through. It was difficult to consistently get to the gym until 2 or 3 months post partum, so I started out with HIIT workouts at home with 10, 15, and 20 pound dumbbells. That was plenty because I hadnt done anything in many, many months!!! I progressed to Bad Ass Vol 2 and Butt Bible workouts for a few months before switching to Back to the Roots, which I am still on. I LOVE this program because it has really helped me gain significantly more strength. I only recently started adding in 25 minutes of cardio a few times a week in the last few weeks. Its taken me that long to start feeling like I have enough energy for both cardio and weights! One month before I got pregnant, April 2013. I was really struggling with getting my hypothyroidism under control and finding a doctor who would help me find the right medication. I weighed about 145-147 here at 56. As you can see, I was feeling rather defeated and dejected. I didnt have the energy to work out at all. I could barely walk the dog halfway down the block. 10 weeks pregnant. I weighed 148. I was already so uncomfortable and I wasnt even through the first trimester! I wasnt working out much because of the fatigue. I was TERRIFIED of how much weight I was going to gain and if Id ever be able to lose it again because of the trouble I had already been having in the last two years. 3 days before I went into labor. I weighed 175. I had stopped working out around 6 months into my pregnancy because of heart palpitations, contractions, and severe pain in SI joint simply with walking. I spend between an hour and an hour and a half a day working out. Thyroid is well managed now, too, with all ranges perfect. You and your programs have given me a new work ethic in all areas of my life, not just that one hour a day in the gym. Youre the best! fighterdiet/athlete/store/workout/fd-the-butt-bible-volume-2
