I remember flying from Keflavik Iceland in a C54 bucket of bolts - TopicsExpress

I remember flying from Keflavik Iceland in a C54 bucket of bolts leaking oil and with dancing rivets on the top of the wings. I looked through the inspection window after using the head and seeing a frayed rudder control cable, I notified the crew chief and we returned to the field at Keflavik. The trip was to fly over the then erupting Sertsi Volcano off the southern coast of Iceland 1963. These kinds of events stick in ones memory. I also remember the stink of stock fish drying in the racks as we got off the plane. At the end of the field was a fish processing plant. So much for old memories I just thought I would share with you all.
