I remember my Mom and my Dad (before he died) seemed to always be going to funerals. You know, I did not really pay that much attention, my Mom would call and say someone else had died, a friend from church, and old neighbor. I might ask if she needed a ride but it did not really hit me how hard this was on her. Her friends and family were slowly leaving her. My Mom lived to be 97 and by that time had lost almost all her friends and lots of her brothers and sisters. Now as most of us will do I am now walking in those shoes. For all you young people who think that does not apply to you for many, many years, Ill tell you a secret that nobody told me. Those years will fly by so fast they will be gone in a blink of an eye. I just lost another dear friend and everytime now I remember my Mom and Dad and how much I did not understand how much it hurt.
