I remember my late dad talking about a big flood, maybe 50 or so - TopicsExpress

I remember my late dad talking about a big flood, maybe 50 or so years ago. People were self reliant. They fended for themselves and helped each other. Reserve boundaries were not a problem... They shared resources and persevered. Or the huge snowfall that went as high as the telephone wires.. People stayed put and waited, they rationed what food they had, made water from snow. During those times everyone knew how to survive... As a community we have to get back to helping each other out, in times of pestilence, droit, floods or any natural disaster. We cant depend on anyone cause they have their own problems to deal with. Its no ones fault, except Mother Nature! Maybe shes done this to us to teach us a lesson... That we have to rely on ourselves, we have to do better towards each other. Lets face it, our communities have become to reliant on handouts from the government.. We have to get out there and become independent... The welfare system is not going to here all the time. Teach the young ones the fundamentals of what most of us were taught by our parents and grandparents. Its not for nothing that they made you go for moulters, or to go and chop wood. It was life and they tried to teach you how to survive!!
