I remember something Krist Novoselic said about Kurt Cobain and how their fame jerked the rug out from under him, undermining his reality, and he never fully recovered from it. It makes sense, considering all he wanted to do was play his songs and in his off time be a roadie for his favorite band, The Melvins. It must have been quite a trip to go from sleeping in your car to having a million in the bank with countless throngs of adoring fans, practically overnight. Theres a lot of us who have had our fundamental reality jerked out lately. Its disorienting, exhausting and more than a little bit scary. Its also an amazing opportunity. Its like an epic mid-life crisis without all of the extra baggage. ;) So what are we going to do with it lovelies? I am facing my desire to escape and hide head on. I know that is why I moved from a city with over 100K people to one with less than 25. I feel like Ive landed in a Hunter S. Thompson novel, considerably more sober, but not any less strange. We shall see what unfolds my friends.
