I remember standing in the big train yard in St. Louis years ago, - TopicsExpress

I remember standing in the big train yard in St. Louis years ago, watching the cars fly by overhead on the overpass. It was pouring rain, and I was cold, alone, and miserable. It was one of the most dense moments of my (then) young life. I was trying to get back east, and had nothing but my shadow to keep me company. Now, while I wasnt battling addiction, I was battling myself nonetheless.. and I was in for a rude awakening in the years to come. Little did I know that about ten years later, Id be driving over that same overpass on tour with Dan Mazer and Johnny Lawless, staring back into that lonesome, gigantic train yard.. seeing the ghost of that scared, angry young man.. who no matter where he went, was sure to find himself there. Some people think this song is about a woman. Its not. Its about realizing that some things cant be beaten alone.. Its about turning The Creator, humbling ones self, and asking for help. In Mikes case it was dope.. In my case it was me. Either way.. Heres to those of you whove turned your palms up, surrendered to the pain, and asked That Which Is Greater Than Us to take away YOUR ball and chain. God Bless. -JB https://youtube/watch?v=_NWjehpGSO0
