I remember that day well. Early morning snow and low ambient temperatures - perfect for high boast pressure. I had never heard the car scream like that before. Helping matters was a fire extinguisher in the engine bay spraying super cooled halon into the intercooler. There was also a boast control on the dashboard disguised as a cigarette lighter. Really CAMS, a cigarette lighter in a race car? The fire extinguisher was pure genius and you were never going to work that one out, but how did you not discover the boast control during scrutineering? George still had to drive the thing and he wrung the neck out of that car as it fleeted around the mountain. One of the finest pieces of driving I have ever seen.
