I remember your story about working at sorting fruit and making - TopicsExpress

I remember your story about working at sorting fruit and making designs on the conveyor belt. Would you tell it again?...a request from Marcia Healy. 🌞I will share some parts Marcia: I think it was around 1967 or 1968 when we drove from central Illinois west to California seeking a better way to live. We were suppose to meet with friends in Haight-Ashbury district in San Francisco and decide where to go from there. We wanted to live communally... learning day by day. From observing *some* other communes, we realized that at their core of success was a central purpose/theme/business like art, music, a restaurant everyone took turns working in... whatever...on their home land I saw dwellings that individuals lived in as their own space and other structures that were shared by all like the main kitchen where everyone would meet to work and eat. First realization was we needed to earn money for food and shelter pretty quickly and then we could progress in the direction we wanted to go. We met someone who told us that they were hiring at the cannery in Modesto, California so we headed that way. I cant remember if we still had a working car or if we hitchhiked to get there. Linda J Adler Kamm, were you there then? ( to be continued)
