I remembered the days when I decided to join the real estate - TopicsExpress

I remembered the days when I decided to join the real estate career more than 10 years ago, it was a lull period in the real estate market. However, I burned my ship, took the leap of faith and never look back since then. The first transaction that I handled almost ended my career immediately. Back then, there was lack of transparency and training for newly joined agents and also no proper guidance from anyone. Going through the school of hard knocks is the only way to gain experience for myself and lucky for me, although the transaction was almost aborted, it had a happy ending. From then on, I begin to observe carefully how the seniors handle their work and over time, I mastered all the skills, knowledge and experience necessary to be a successful real estate professional. Although it was a slow and painstaking process in the initial months, I persisted. Spending countless hours studying, analysing and working harder than anyone else I know, slowly but surely my sales started to pick up and achieved as one of the Top Producers in the company. Soon after stabilizing my sales income as a consistent producer, I embarked on the journey of being a team leader. Due to how I started my career without guidance, it taught me an important lesson which helped me become a better team leader. The key to recruitment is retention. Many of my peers joining the trade at the same time as me left the industry after awhile, it taught me the importance to provide proper guidance and mentorship to new agents in the industry. These are crucial and critical factors that determine the success of a new agent. As a leader, I am committed to guide each and every of my agents who entrust their future with me when they join me in this career. Making sure that they make the income they desire and achieving the goals they have set for themselves. Besides the one to one coaching session with them, group training session and personal development session with my agents is something I strongly believe in. Only through communication, working together and brain-storming for new ways to engage customers and create more sales can we survive the ever-changing real estate market. Seeing agents that I personally mentored achieving top producers and top leaders in the company made me feel really satisfied and all my efforts are well rewarded. My promotion to Division Director, Senior Division Director and Group Division Director within a short span of time is the reflection of not just personal growth, but the ability to groom teammates to excel in their sales income. My groups production grew from strength to strength. However my career somehow hit a plateau. I started to realize time is really insufficient when my team size increased. There is really just too much to do and I faced difficulties retaining my agents. Building a team alone is not easy, I had witnessed too many leaders whom gave up after a couple of years building teams. The main reason is they lack leveraging and just the training programs alone can take up so much of your time. Coupled with the departure of some of my good working partners, it struck me to start thinking what can be done to bring my team to the next level of breakthrough. After having the opportunity to meet up with Cijay Tew and Kelvin Fong from Powerful Negotiators @ PropNex, I realised that there is much more value that can be offered to both my clients and agents. With the teams structured training programs, real time system on I-deal apps, information sharing within the team, the synergy and culture of teamwork among the leaders allows the group to be strong and united. This is the leveraging that can help my team to achieve the next breakthrough. This is exactly what I am looking for all these years. Training platforms where leaders can share openly and selflessly encourage all agents to learn from each other and not restricted to just their direct upline or division. This made me realise that alone I can do so little, but together we can do so much. In fact, the team had their trainings lined up for the entire year ahead. I am glad I have made the decision to move forward and embarked a new journey with Powerful Negotiators @ PropNex. I am confident with the leverage my team has with Powerful Negotiators, we are definitely looking forward to many good years ahead. Learning is forever, and the pursue for excellence never ends. I will continue to learn from many of my seniors here and also contribute as much as I can to the team. Wishing all my friends a wonderful and amazing 2014!
