I resemble that remark? 3-25-2014 1 Timothy 6:3-6 Theme: 3. If any man teaches otherwise, and consent not to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to Godliness; 4. He is proud, knowing nothing, but doting about questions and strifes of words, whereof cometh envy, strife, railings, evil surmisings, 5. Perverse disputings of men of corupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is Godliness: from such withdraw thyself. 6. But Godlines with contentment is great gain. Aviod worthless arguments especailly with those that think they know it all. These such people are full of pride and some times they dont even know it. Remember the evil one knows scripture better than we do and he will use it to his advantage. If a person has to be right all the time even with scripture, they might be letting pride get in the way. We need to avoid such people because pride is like a plague and it will rub off on you. All it takes is one little argument over who is right and before you know it pride has reared its ugly head. And the devil is sitting back rubbing his hands together saying, I got them right where I want them. I still fall into this trap and I hate it, but love it when I feel the convition of it and know that my Savior not the evil one is gonna win this round for my heart. Sometimes we just need to practice what we preach and out of love we need to shut our mouths. We just need to pray for each other in these types of situations and allow the Lord to work on our prideful hearts. Im so grateful that Im learning about myself and the people around me and that the Lord really does love us more than we can imagine. Ecclesiates 5:1 Keep thy foot when thou goest to the house of God, and be more ready to hear, then to give the sacrifices of fools: for they consider not that they do evil. When we enter the house of God, we should have the attitude of being open and ready to listen to God, not to dictate to him what we think He should do. We need to also realize that are leaders, teachers and pastors are human and they will make mistakes, but we dont need to have the attitude of trying to find fault with these anointed ones. If they make an honest mistake and you see it pray for them and if they keep making the same mistake ask them about it in a loving way. When we go to Church its to learn from God and to fellowship and love on one another. Are you at Church to learn and love or are you mystery shopping? Most of the time when we see fault in someone its because we are looking in a mirror, we feel the same fault in ourselves and the truth hurts sometimes. Lets quit the fault finding and bickering, and get back to learning about, and worshiping our awesome Savior Jesus Christ. No more division , only unity. What can you do to add to your Church? How can take what you learn at Church and apply it to your life everyday? Father God please take the heavy pride from our hearts and turn it into humble loving hearts. Transform us from the inside out. Help us to love and support each other through our learning processes and give us ears of wisdom. Thank you Jesus for keeping us on the narrow path, the path that leads to righteousness. In Jesus mighty and healing name we pray. AMEN - Jody Palmer
