I respect all of those who believe Thanksgiving should be a time - TopicsExpress

I respect all of those who believe Thanksgiving should be a time for family and not go shopping. BUT (you know me...I like to stir it up) what if some people have no family or family is nowhere near them ...like in another state or across the country. Why do we assume EVERYBODY celebrates Thanksgiving the SAME way? Do you really believe every single household in America has a family that sits down to Turkey, Mashed Potatos, Green bean casserole, gravy and biscuits and Apple Pie for dessert? Maybe you do and all of your neighbors, but really....think people, we are ALL NOT the same. So why do you believe I cannot go shopping on a DAY I DONT CELEBRATE? (Im going shopping because I hate the crowds...never ever been to Black Friday...Im just saying) Oh...and one more thing....For some, the sales are the only time of the year they can afford those items at those prices. AND maybe the family all go together. So whos to say that shopping CANT be family time. AND yet another thing.....maybe some cant get home from out of state until Friday or Saturday.....maybe they celebrate Thanksgiving on Saturday or Sunday?
