I sat down with a very close uncle of mine who is currently a senator and of course a politician. I asked him on why hes leaving his current political party and that where he is going to? He replied by first thanking me and said a few things that increased my doubt about the future of this country. 1. He said I should know that first and foremost politics is about SELF and what benefits you can get for yourSELF. Therefore, if SELF is threatened, then you must look for another platform. A SELF platform. 2. Politics is also for your associates and supporters. You need to take care of them before the new elections. 3. Moving from one party to another isnt a big deal, Amosun moved, Akala moved, Ladoja moved, Ajimobi moved. .. so aburo mi, movement is normal o! 4. That he is negotiating between party A and Party B. Whichever that is ready to accommodate his SELFish conditions will have him! My Take: He is erroneously correct. And I helplessly agree with him. Nigerian politics is about SELF....ME, MY, MINE, I.....No heart of service, No spirit of nationhood. No one wants to sacrifice but everyone wants to steal, to loot, to kill and to destroy. ..when theyre in government, they are sycophants, once theyre out, they become emergency activists. ... They are behind the many woes of our nation because no nation excels in an atmosphere of SELF! TODAY IS EASTER: The day that Jesus Christ sacrificed SELF and rose to glory. .. A few minutes before He sacrificed self, He had wished that his personal desires of not making such sacrifice should triumph but He reversed Himself immediately when He said that the will of God to save humanity be done..... what a day to celebrate the death of SELF. Only selflessness can save humanity! Today is a day when selflessness triumphs! HAPPY SELFLESS DAY.
