I saw 12 YEARS A SLAVE this weekend and i can say that it is a very powerful, truthful account of the horrors of slavery. I urge everyone out there to see it! It is very disturbing but truthful and i think it is one of the best films out there! Steve Mcqueen is brilliant! Also for those of you who love to read please check out Someone Knows My Name by Lawrence Hill...this is a story that goes deep into the reality of slavery and educates you in knowing the truth. I had a chance to read this book at my African American literature and history class at Georgia Perimeter College!
