There is nothing against Keanu Reeves but, what is this love affair with white male protagonists in a non-white country and in a non-white culture all about? This is what I talk about when I say that Hollywood is one of the perpetrators of the philosophy of white supremacy. Whether it is a white man as a hero in feudal Japan, a white man as a hero among Native Americans or even if it is a white man/woman as the hero in a predominately black and Latino inner city school. The message is the same: Only white people can save the day.
