I saw this beautiful clip on friend Richenda Highs timeline, of Validation Therapy (Feil) in action. The parts where the therapist and client become one are noteworthy (and powerful), reminding me how much OT curricula today have privileged research evidence and technique, over the art of therapy. No, I am not discrediting the value of research and technique but rather pointing out the lost art of how we bring people through to enablement. The clip also reminded me of the Kawa Model which metaphorically appreciates the person and context ( including the social environment) as one.
