Maarten Vink born in Assen (Netherlands ) in 1981 I was raised with all kinds of music from classical music to Blues music. I have an 7 year older sister that had her own taste of music and she listened to R&B music like Adina Howard, Monica etc..(loved it) Of course i grew up with my own preferences of music and when I was young i listened to a lot of techno , hardstyle , Reggae (Bob Marley ), Hardcore ,Trance, Hiphop...so my music taste is very wide. In those days Hiphop was a major listening factor for me from snoop dog , dr dre , Qtip (A tribe called Quest) LL cool J , Cypress Hill, and so on.. When I got to the age of 27 i discovered Chillout music and my big inspiration here was G-corp and the Thievery Corporation When I discovered thievery and G-corp i listened to this for years to come. And after listening so much just chillout ( some are heavily influenced on Bossa Nova, or Reggae) i started to get my own ideas about how I would do it. Then I started making music of my own at the age of 30. ( also made music from the age 18 to 21 which is all lost due to computer crash) Because my love for hiphop also never died , the drum works I do on a lot of my songs are based on hiphop grounds , with the atmospherics of chillout music and the reason why I place my music in the genre chillout // triphop But I don’t want to restrict myself just to this genre , because there is much more in me than something you put in a box and label it!... Some people write poems to express their feelings , and so do I as a producer within my music ( like peter and the wolf) I guess you could say that g-corp and thievery corporation inspired me to make music. But in the end , its my love for all the genres i like and love that inspires me. Sometimes the light comes out , sometimes darkness, and sometimes mystery of what it is.. ( like what life is) And for where is see myself as a producer? , Id really want to be known as a producer where people can find their emotions that resemble their own when listening to my music. And come back for more just to find that emotion. Of course Id love to be one of the biggest chillout producers out there with its own unique sounds that makes me stand out from the other artists. As you know , when the time comes Id love to stand in front of a crowd that comes to see and hear what I have to play!. Im as motivated as I can be a human being // producer , and I want to build my name so I can be on the stage where people cant wait for the next album.. I’m gratefull for the people / fans that follow me and love to interact with the people that love my music.
