Im so torn. I believe everything Jeff Berwick says here is true. The only thing we dont know is when. But we do know it will be soon. A year or two? Five years? Anyway, for me, its a difficult prospect—not because I have any problem with leaving…Id love to relocate somewhere south of the border. In fact, I purchased a Latin American Spanish course in order to try to learn the language, in case I go (besides, here in Vegas, knowing at least some Spanish would be helpful on a day-to-day basis anyway). My problem? Ive just built a huge drum kit, and am preparing to potentially enter the music field, a dream of mine since I was a teenager. I have also acquired, over the past couple years, substantial computer equipment to aid in my writing—a dream of mine since I was old enough to be able to read. And now, my blogging, which Ive diligently worked on for a few years now, is beginning to see success too. And Im on the cusp of acquiring new equipment and software to return to my graphic design work (my old pc and design software are 8 years, going on 9, obsolete) and CAD software to resurrect my product design abilities, which I did quite a bit of in the 15 years I worked in manufacturing. And, I just got my first digital video camera, and who knows what doors that will open for me….video blogging, a YouTube channel….podcasting….music videos….you name it! Not to mention a slew of product ideas, business ideas…. But today, Im building it all on sand. It will all disappear with the incoming tide, the impending financial collapse. So I stand at the precipice of many of my lifelong dreams, just as the entire economy is poised to collapse beneath me. Choosing between realizing those dreams, or selling it all off just as theyre getting ready to happen in exchange for a new dream—relocating to Latin American, and starting over—especially at my age—is a difficult choice to say the least….if even an impossible one. Perhaps I should start buying lottery tickets...
