Who had a Saturday morning ritual as a young child? My mum, dad - TopicsExpress

Who had a Saturday morning ritual as a young child? My mum, dad and I would walk from Lawn Road, along Garden Lane and Outram Street to the Co-op on Portland Square where I loved to watch the money zooming through the tubes to the cashier. Then it would be pork pies, tomato sausage and a joint of meat from Whileys and a penny Hovis loaf and various cream cakes from Walthams before walking on up to the market. We would have pie, chips and peas and a plate of bread and butter with a cuppa at the restaurant before heading home again. Sometimes we caught the 106 bus that went down Eastfield Side.
