I scroll through my newsfeed and I see people divided, ferguson, obama, republicans, democrats, police officers and average citizens. We the people have been so busy picking sides that regardless of the issue, we are deaf to truth. We are blind to civility and we allow the hate to creep in. We the people are too busy being in clicks and not being a nation. A nation more diverse than any other. What should be a shining city on a hill as Ronald Reagan said. A beacon of hope to the world. Instead we have become a nation of sub-cultures afraid of the truth in any circumstance. Comfortable in living the reality show in our heads starring ourselves instead of addressing the realities of life. The talking heads talk and whatever side youre on, you march. The American experiment was meant to show that the average person could govern themselves. That different people could live together in peace. Instead we ignore our own back yard and burn friendships to defend strangers against the strangers our friends our defending. Why not instead, be a nation and show the world the American experiment, though imperfect can endure. I love my country, but I fear for it.
