I see Edwards weaknesses, I also see his strengths..... I am so lost as to whether the system is the right direction, there is a ton of negativity that I really cant find much benefit to. I have heard positive results from home schooling.....most (no all) of Edwards outbursts have reason, but I cant expect another child to know that after they have been taking Edwards playdoh the 4th time he will bite because he has had enough being patient and does not have the words to say stop that, I see that no kindy teacher is telling the other child off before hand. And no one will know that that child has been in Edwards personal space too long, the other child just thinks they have been playing with Edward (and so will his EIT), then Edward has had enough of the intrusion.... And bite. But his speech is getting better being around verbal kids ...... Because he is learning that is what other kids do, and to my disappointment he is also learning that other kids dont write words, they scribble :-(. He is learning that kids with pretty pictures get encouragement and verbal approval from kindy teachers while his written letters hardly get a mention. His kindy book is getting pictures of acting like a verbal child.....not one of him counting, or painting letters or of his playdoh words??????? What am I doing, how can this be right? Teaching a bright child that they are not right and arent perfect with in themselves as they are????? I think I have to seriously think over the next few months about what the hell I am doing.
