I see a lot of statuses on my Feed from proud Xaverians who believe the police brutality was an outcome of dirty politics. Gender violence has little to do with politics as you see it, which Im guessing is restricted to your knowledge of TMC and CPM and the like, and has everything to do with the patriarchy. The patriarchy is not restricted to an institution, and before you air your opinions about such and malign a non-violent feminist movement, educate yourself on the facts of the case. If however, you choose to be willfully ignorant, know that you are actively promoting rape culture by your stance and undermining a bannerless movement. You are also maligning and disreputing all students of St.Xaviers who are in solidarity with this movement, some of whom were the victims of police violence on the night on Sept 17. If you wish to express your patriarchal and mostly incorrect views on this subject, you are free to do so, but do not call yourself a Xaverian and tie an institution with your hate speech. #hokkolorob.
