I see many posts and questions about how Donnie passed. I wanted to let everyone know some of what happened that day. We were riding in the car, on the way to a doctors appointment. About half way there, he tapped my shoulder twice, to make me look at him as I was driving. He sat up in the seat and I love you so very much. I grabbed his hand and said Awww, I love you more as we continued to hold hands. He leaned back in the seat and fell asleep. We probably road like that for 30 minutes. When I pulled into a station to get gas, I thought he was still sleeping. I tried to wake him up because were getting close to MUSC , But he wasnt sleeping, he had already passed. As we were waiting for EMS to arrive, two MECHANICS ran out the back of the gas station and removed him and started doing CPR. Believe me, the irony of two mechanics working on him was not lost on me. I think that would have made him proud. I didnt even know there was a garage attached to the store....a store which wed never stopped at before. I hope that answers everyones questions. I never would have dreamed in a million years, our journey would end this way. I didnt even see it or feel it coming. And for that, I will be eternally grateful. If I had to choose, I would choose it the way it was. He was so happy and at peace with everything. I just wasnt ready to give up polishing my beloved diamond in the rough. The rough was falling off of him by the day and his beautiful diamond underneath, was shining ever so brightly.
