I see memes blasting corporate America all the time for their greed. Well, I actually LOOK at numbers. And remember, these shareholders are people, like you and me, most of them NOT large investors. This OUTRAGEOUS dividend that people are screaming about, represents a 3.6% return on investment for the past year. Lets not deny investors 3.6 cents on the dollar shall we? No, McDonalds REALLY cannot afford a raise in minimum wage because 3.6 cents on the dollar is already a paltry return for investors. Do you think they are going to take less? I know it SOUNDS like a lot of money and memes like this are going to ENRAGE the general public, but its another example of not putting things in the proper perspective. On a per share basis, it was $3.12. Thats right. Here it is. nasdaq/symbol/mcd/revenue-eps Take a look. Then scream and yell about greedy old corporate America, who by the way, pays your salary. Why dont you scream and yell about people who want to sit on their butts all day, not putting any effort into bettering their life or their situation and expect you and me to foot the bill for their life? Minimum wage is a STARTING point, not a resting point. If you are still making minimum wage after even a YEAR at a fast food restaurant, chances are, you are doing something MAJORLY wrong. After five years, most move into management, if they stay there that long. GIVE ME A FREAKING BREAK PEOPLE! $15 an hour for taking orders and flipping burgers is ridiculous when you have mechanics making only $20. Get over it. Stop trying to redistribute wealth and start concentrating on redistributing opportunity.
