I sending this on behalf of Jim, I have also emailed this to the class.Take a look please. Vision without execution is hallucination” – Thomas Edison From: Lily Viggiano [mailto:lily@epycinitiatives] Sent: January-06-15 2:54 PM To: Jim Featherstone Subject: Interesting Volunteer Opportunity for Community & Justice Services students Hello James Featherstone, I am from a youth development organization called Empowering Proactive Youth and Communities (EPYC) which is a program of the Volunteer Action Center KW & Area. We run events and mentor youth with a focus on developing skills for entrepreneurship and social innovation. In fact, some of our volunteers are current Conestoga students, and I am an alumni from 2013. We are approaching you, the Program Coordinator of the Community & Justice Services program because in 2015 we are planning workshop series for high school students that postsecondary students will facilitate. It is a great opportunity for postsecondary students to develop skills (Ex. creating workshop to discuss community issues, inspiring youth to be change-makers, project management) and gain practical experience, while giving back to the local community and enhancing their resume. Workshop Schedule 1 - Finding your passion and developing leadership skills 2 - Our community + Partnerships 3 - Social Innovation and Entrepreneurship 4 - The Social Start-up The Ask: Would you be willing to forward this information along to your students? We will also be at the Get Involved fair next week. Thank you for taking the time to read this e-mail & let me know if you know another professor that might be interested. Looking forward to hearing from you! Lily Viggiano PR Degree Graduate of Conestoga College 2013
