I sent the following. I am a retired biotechnology research scientist. I am aware of the damage fracking operations will cause to freshwater both people and wildlife must consume to survive. They are conveniently releasing toxins which will enter the sources of freshwater at concentrations below the detection limit of current analytical devices. Nevertheless, it is well known that toxic pollution will accumulate in the ecosystem and find its way into either the freshwater supply or the food chain. As a concerned constituent, Im writing you to respectfully ask you as my government representative to oppose any budget proposal that includes fracking under any part of our state land area. As a member of our state government please protect all citizens of Pennsylvania as well as our states greatest outdoor places--they must be protected for future generations, not irreparably harmed to be a cash cow for politicians in Harrisburg.
