lately ive been asked by a few people which starter synths to buy when building their studios with limited income. just gonna post my opinion here hoping to save time... novation mininova arturia microbrute (about to be released) u could get these 2 synths together for about $700 and it would give u an analog semi-modular mono synth and a digital poly synth with thousands of presets built in and even more you can download for free. u can also send patches to other mininova/ultranova users and collab on sound designs...not to mention they are both very portable and take up very little studio space. also their resale value wouldnt be much less than you paid originally, so when u upgrade u will feel like u easily got your money worth out of these lil guys
