I share this with a HEAVY heart.....I warn you ahead of time...someone dies here. I think technology could be our savior in light of recent events. I realize every police officer has the RIGHT to defend themselves, just like any man...BUT to be the professional in the line of safety and security demands a more refined approach when dealing with the public. The common man doesnt have the option for more sophisticated techniques when dealing with aggressors. With this in mind, based on current standards, this is justifiable suicide by cop. I work in a Hospital, in this environment..in my capacity, in a controlled environment, we have options to deal with random cray cray. Currently, tazers and the like are somewhat ineffective, and chancy at best. Id like to see some funding pushed all up in the non-leathal department to give these men and women in blue a more dependable option then shoot to kill.
