I share this with a personal testimony. I trained alone or with friends at a free Military Globo gym-like facility for the better part of eight (8) years. That is doing CrossFit or CrossFit-like programming. Can you imagine doing snatches for time without instruction? The ONLY reason I didnt seriously hurt myself was do to youth (and my natural super-human abilities). In 2008 I was a part of a CrossFit gym that was ran pretty terribly at the time as it was almost solely Open-gym all of the time. I was so hooked on CrossFit though, that I traveled to Raleigh, NC (then from Fayetteville, NC) a few weekends to be trained by a Weightlifting coach (Olympic Lifting). I did two sessions and thought I was good to go and from there my own personal journey of training without proper supervision continued. The ONLY time I EVER got bits and nuggets on how to do movements correctly was when I dropped in on a CrossFit gym when I went TDY and thought I had the extra money to pay for the week or so. When I created my own gym in my garage after dropping a few thousand dollars on equipment over the years (beginning in 2010). The only time I REALLY put in the right amount of intensity, was when my buddies would come over and workout as well. Think about the times when you are in the middle of a grueling workout, you feel as if your lungs are about to explode, and you still have work to be done. How many of you, if you were at home, alone, (totally watching that movie a billion times a week as we approach Christmas) would put out the effort that you do at our gym, or even finish the workout? One day Ill get a bicycle and CrossFit Reebok Training apparel and travel home to home preaching this message. TGIF (RIP Steven Q. Urkel) - Rob Furloni
