"I should fairly admit that judiciary is not untouched by corruption. The solution for eliminating this disorder majorly lies in the hands of litigants....Retired judges of the Supreme Court and High Courts should not accept assignments as heads of inquiry panels as their reports are generally dumped in the dustbins, are seldom acted upon or kept closed in cupboards....However, they could be part of arbitration tribunals which would benefit from their seasoned judicial minds," says Chief Justice of India-designate P Sathasivam, who takes oath as the 40th CJI on July 19.
