I sincerely wish to thank everyone for their concern and well wishes today. Upon checking my snail mail on my way to chemotherapy earlier today, I found that I had received a NOTICE OF CANCELLATION from Independance Blue Cross (IBX). After many (MANY) telephone calls, and hours upon hours of listening to terrible on-hold music, I learned that they have completely screwed up my policy. They enrolled me in a lesser policy than that which I purchased and paid for, nor did they credit me the Tax Credits due me. The folks at Healthcare.gov (I got a REAL person on the third ring, who was very concerned and helpful) verified that everything I had signed up for is exactly as I believed it to be. It turns out that my only recourse is to send IBX an email explaining their errors. This email has been carefully composed and sent. Tomorrow, I will also be writing my Congressman with a copy of the email to IBX attached. I expect this issue to be resolved quite fast, else the feces is going hit the impeller. On the positive side: my Healthcare Providers at Chester County Hematology-Oncology were absolutely awesome. To quote my Oncologist: I dont care, Im treating you anyway (with a compassionate smile). I just hope Interventional Radiology feels the same way for my paracentesis first thing tomorrow morning. Its time for an Ativan and some sleep. Good night Friends
