In your small groups, read and discuss both articles. Use the following questions to guide your discussions. a) What impression of teachers do you get from each headline? b) What is the tone of each article? In other words, what is the writers attitude toward the teachers in each article? Provide quotes to support your response c) The Vancouver Sun is part of a for-profit media corporation. The Tyee is an independent newspaper that is dependent on subscriptions. What impact, if any, might these facts have on the content of each publication. d)What questions arise out of your analysis of these two articles?
