I spent a fabulous day in Newport, Rhode Island. I love it! So colourful, vibrant and alive. The port is stunning. Several large craft moored. The sailboats are my favorite though. I took a one hour cruise around the bay, a mile short of Atlantic Ocean proper, on a sunset special. Viewed some Newport Mansions from the water, with names like the Whartons (Edith, The Age of Innocence, Pulitzer Prize winner, The Bouviers (Of Jackie and John Kennedy fame, and the Vanderbilts of TOO MUCH $$$$ fame! So many beautiful Summer Cottages which are like English castles and Greek derivitive style. All over the top HUGE. All these buildings set within spacious green lawn settings, looking out onto the magnificent bay. Stunning does not do the whole scenario justice. We passed very close by The Black Pearl , One master from Pirates of the Carribean fame. I almost jumped of our boat to swim and touch the deck that Johnny Depp walked on.... Now when I think of it I should have jumped...Keith Richards walked that deck too, DAMMIT! I spent about five hours walking ONE STREET in the shopping district. I bought a windcheater hoodie, to wear on the cruise, but I resisted other tempting booty . The shops, the scenery, the vibe, the people....the COLOUR and vibrancy. I took a couple of photos with the IPAD, as my digital has died. I am frightened if I fiddle with any of them ( the photos) I might delete them. Flags, flowers, cobblestone streets, people smiling all eating icecream! The smell of the ocean. pretzels baking, fudge being stirred, pastries and waffle cones being baked....mmmmmm. I had a very interesting reading from a really good old fashioned gypsy reader. She gave me the same at least similar stuff that Jamie Butler gave me about my birthmother. She INSISTS Cambridge. Go to the churches, she said. Thinking on that,,,, gonna sleep on it. So sitting here in the Hotel Lobby, sipping my plastic cup of dry white, waiting for me to get tipsy enough to sleep through the dudes next door snoring! Far out! He is has the snore of a freight train in heat! I think our heads are like three inches apart through the wall. Terrible thing is, I know I snore too, so my revenge will be to wake him up early with my own rumble!!!
