I spent an hour and a half at GTS yesterday afternoon. I talked with students and two faculty members. I sat in the chapel in silence and in prayer. I cant believe what is happening to my beloved seminary. I cant believe that it has progressed to this sorry state of affairs. To my mind, it could have been stopped way before this. Now eight faculty members have been fired. One, Andrew Irving, could be deported soon if he has no employment in this country. Health insurance benefits have been terminated for the GTS8. Im sorry, but this is cruel. Is this how a Christian community acts? To my mind, if the faculty must go then the Dean must also go. His leadership has become toxic. I grieve for my seminary.
