I spent the day at MoMA PS1 and got a little overstimulated, so I wanted to come home and settle down a bit before posting. My advice: just for one day, say to hell with the endless stream of anti-art-market diatribes and critics who only cover big-whale obviousness, and go witness this thrilling wide-ranging array of career retrospectives that will remind you of the power, political/personal urgency, and mythic potential of art. Mostly by artists you are probably wholly unfamiliar with, at least in my case. If you walk away uninspired by these exhibitions (that have mostly received no hype or mention by our trusted media figures who prefer to dwell in the realm of click-bait antagonism) then the art world may not be the place for you.
