START OF CONSTRUCTION SECONDARY NATIONAL HIGHWAY IN BHUTAN Did you know that the Embassy in New Delhi also represents the Netherlands in Bhutan and Nepal? Our Honorary Consul in Bhutan, Ms. Phuntshok C Tshering, attended a ceremony in Gesarling Gewog to mark the start of the construction of the Dalbari-Dagapela Secondary National Highway. This ceremony was conducted in keeping with the unique traditions and culture of Bhutan. The Head Monk of Dagana, Lam Neten, led the religious proceedings, joined by a team of monks. Hundreds of members of the Gesarling community and nearby villages had come to join in the celebration, in which monks conducted the prayers and blessed the site. Apart from our Honorary Consul, the ceremony was also attended by the Governor and representatives of Dagana Dzongkhag district, private construction companies and the project manager and adviser of the Netherlands Enterprise Agency.
