I spent the weekend in the sound booth at the Connaught Fairs - TopicsExpress

I spent the weekend in the sound booth at the Connaught Fairs Light Horse Show. Even though we were rained out the first day, the weekend was a huge success. Our day 1 judge Nicole Brown graciously offered to come back and double judge the second day, thank you Nicole. Kerri-Anne Shemko-Boxall knows how to put on a hell of a show; many long unseen hours put in by her thats for sure. Miss Samantha Denise Boxall does all the entries and does a fantastic job of it. She makes my job so much easier, all I have to do is show up and talk ;) Our gate man Ed does an excellent job of keeping the riders on their toes and ready when they need to be. Faye Sieben spends her time keeping track of and handing out the placings. We could call her the ribbon lady, the money girl and the gate mans wife! Our ring steward Justin Lacroix did me proud and spent his weekend in the ring beside the judges. I did not think I would ever put the words Justin, style and grace in the same sentence but you surprised me. Besides the wife beater which was straight from Hickville, you did an awesome job. And then there are all the extras who just simply jump in and help when they see it is needed. What a fantastic group of people. Last but not least, those who make the show, the competitors. I was very impressed with how there was no waiting for riders to get to their class and how graceful everyone was with the changes and re-ordering of classes due to the weather. Not a complaint, everyone just went with the flow. I feel so blessed to be able to work and play with such great people.
