I started my first “mini” weight lifting bulk 16 weeks ago and I have gained 30lbs (and two pant sizes #squats) and I couldn’t be any more proud of myself! When a man gains “weight” he is respected for his hard work and I believe the same should happen for women. I am genetically prone to growing muscle and I knew the number on the scale was going to go up #thickthickthick. Obviously not all the weight I gained is muscle and that is why it’s time to start doing cardio (running, birkam yoga, or stair master) on top of my weight lifting schedule to shed any fluff. I can’t wait to see all the muscles I worked my hardest to build. The next time the scale says 170lbs I will be in the healthiest I’ve ever been. Who knows, maybe I’ll just maintain 170lbs or maybe I’ll bulk again. I guess we will see when I get there(: Health is a constant journey. It takes weeks, months, and years to achieve. It takes lifelong exercise, diet, and lifestyle changes. It takes accepting who you are in every moment and loving yourself regardless of where you are on your journey. It takes being able to look in the mirror and accepting, forgiving, complementing, and embracing your imperfections. Don’t ever let a number on a scale, the size of your clothes, or another person make you feel like you aren’t good enough. You are beautiful and perfect just the way you are. It’s your life; you control it by the choices you make every minute of every day. Today, I will eat grain-free and do squats.(;
