I started writing & recording in 1985, didn’t get serious about it until 1991. Then I worked with friends & crappy equipment, but let’s skip a few years: In 1994 I had an idea, which grew over time. It started with a simple story idea & an instrumental I recorded named “Calling of the Faithful” in 1994. The next couple years I recorded a few songs, a couple of which fit into the story I had in mind. In 1997 it really started to come together, & in 1998 it really started being cohesive, though the music was less inspired. In 1999 I added the final aspects, then did some other stuff from 2001 to 2008, & in 2008 added one last song, though that one is yet to be recorded. I recorded an album’s worth of songs between 1991 & 2001, but have since only done a few songs. I’ve not done anything very constructive along that line of work in several years, & always feel guilty for not doing so. Life happens, but I hate using that as an excuse. I used to just write an entire arrangement as I went along, & record as the ideas as they came to me, that’s why they’re all scratch-pad recordings. I now just pick up my axe once in a while, play a few minutes, then do something else. I am truly disappointed in myself as an artist. I don’t care much about fame or fortune, but I need to work my craft! I do love to listen to the old recordings sometimes, as well as recordings of my friends!
