I stated a few days ago that ambition is part of productivity and today I want to take that a step further. When I was in primary and high school, I can certainly confess that I wasted a lot of time, but after my decision to stand up and be counted for Christ at age 17, God planted ambition inside me and since then there has been no turning back. Something that stimulated me back then was this passage in Proverbs 10:5 – “A wise youth makes hay while the sun shines, but what a shame to see a lad who sleeps away his hour of opportunity.” I did not know who I was before then, but since that time, God has made it abundantly clear that my strength lies in networking resulting in most of my activities centering around bringing people together around what needs to happen for community transformation. I do have a theological training, but this has simply served to cement the principles I was raised with and has verified the reality of living out a positive attitude, combined with hard work and thought patterns which do not cater for our own selfish ambitions, but seeks as servants of the most high God to draw attention to the life of Jesus.
