I still dont understand why when you meet someone in a social setting one of the first questions is always, So, what do you do for a living? Sure, its a way to find common ground, but its really the most obvious attempt at stereotyping someone. Ummm, why dont you just ask me So how much money do you have? Or What social status are you? Its so shallow that others derive a persons worth from what they do to pay the bills. What you do for a living or how much money you make doesnt tell me shit about the kind of person you are. I dont care how much money you make, what kind of car you drive, what brands you wear, or what neighborhood you live in. Some of the shittiest people Ive known have millions and some of the best people I know struggle & live paycheck to paycheck. So I propose you ask me point blank, Who are you? Ill be happy to answer.
