I stopped at the Schnucks store in Godfrey as I was coming home. - TopicsExpress

I stopped at the Schnucks store in Godfrey as I was coming home. The woman ahead of me in the check-out line was trembling. She told us that she had driven through Ferguson and had been assaulted by a mob...protesters...whatever you call them. She was in her car with the doors locked (naturally), but mob members began beating on the car and broke off both side-view mirrors. She said she has to figure out a different route to work for tomorrow. This poor woman was severely traumatized and just needed people to listen, and thats what the check-out clerk and yours truly did -- listen. And just for the record, I didnt lecture her about the difference between protesters and mob members. She used the terms interchangeably, and I let her do so. She was in a great deal of pain and needed to rant as well as be assured that we were glad she was all right. Just out of curiosity, would any of YOU given her a lecture about how to distinguish protesters from mob members; the importance of ascertaining what drove those people to assault and terrorize her; how mob action can be construed as a form of social protest, etc., etc, etc? Im NOT being sarcastic. I REALLY want to know.
