I suffer from an auto immune disease that reduces the quality of my life in several ways. Ive tried all sorts of things to combat the chronic fatigue, which is probably the most debilitating. For the past week and a half, Ive been drinking 16-24 ounces of water as soon as I wake up, waiting 45 minutes to eat after doing so. After eating, I drink an 8 ounce glass of water with a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar or a squeeze of lemon, which turns to alkaline in your stomach and can actually help balance the acidity. So far Ive noticed: less headaches, less brain foginess, higher energy levels, better sleep, and a few things that would be TMI. Ive always drank a lot of water, but never as much after waking up. It makes sense, youre sleeping for hours without fluid (though, I do always keep water on my nightstand and drink if I wake up during the night), and it needs to be replaced. Drinking coffee in the morning might help get you going, but it actually dehydrates you even more, which might be contributing to chronic headaches and many other things that happen to your body when its not hydrated. This might be especially beneficial to anyone looking to lose weight, because it kicks up your metabolism and youre drinking something thats calorie free and will give you a feeling of being full. The best thing about trying this out is that its free! :-)
