I suppose the hardest obstacle to overcome regarding loving certain people is pride. If we have trouble loving a person, we often place our own self worth above that of the other person. What we often fail to calculate is the price of Jesus. Yes, the price. Jesus paid such an incalculable price for each person when He gave Himself for them, it would be an inexcusable slight to devalue Jesus by devaluing another human being. This love is expressed in grace, mercy, forgiveness, respect, care, and so on. If we go one step further, we must acknowledge that God places some people into our sphere so that we can cherish them, for Him ... which is an honor, if you think about it. The Creator of the universe, takes a person He cherishes, a person He gave the highest price for, then sets them in your life, and asks you to cherish them with Him. Is there really any higher honor than to know that God sees that capability in you and trusts you with such a task?
