I suspect that the one consciousness chose to create physical reality in order to explore itself through otherness in new ways. To do this, it draped a huge veil around itself, thus creating a separation between the divine realms and physical reality. It then fragmented itself into a gazillion parts, many of which individuated on the other side of the veil where they incarnated in physical form. Each of these divine fragments carries in its soul a reflection of its divine source, and each has eyes through which the one consciousness can see and experience itself. So maybe the entire physical universe and all individuated beings in it are an overlay of a great single consciousness through which that one consciousness created and continues to create a game to explore and experience itself. And we here are all part of this divine cosmic dance.
