I swear I woke and wasnt gonna post, but my morning has been WAY too inspirational. Last night, I decided to pull up by a park to eat dinner, take in the quiet of the night, wasnt feeling it to go out to the local bars (even though Ive been told over and over that this little town has some great nightlife...for Idaho). A man walked by with his lab and said hey its a Roadtrek! Love these RVs. How do you like her? We then stood outside and talked for the next half an hour about his dog, the dog he lost two weeks ago, and road tripping. Hes from Marin and when I asked him why he was up here, he said that for him and his family, this is the most peaceful place on earth. Sun Valley is really a special place. Ive been coming here for years with my family. He asked me what I was doing in Ketchum, and once I was done, a huge smile grew in his face, he said he was inspired by my trip and reasoning. He and his wife took off one week after his dog died (one week ago) and said that Ive inspired him to think about taking off for longer with his wife, getting back on the road like they used to. I asked him if you knew a place where I could park since I hadnt found a spot yet (oh van living!) and he pointed in the direction to the south, blocks away and said it should be safe down there. After he left, I drove to that spot, right next to a running river, popped my window a jar and fell asleep. Once again, one of the best sleeps Ive had in a long long time. As I was pulling out of my space this morning, I noticed a business card underneath my windshield wiper. I thought oh shit, this might be my first please dont park here note. I pulled over, grabbed it and read it. It was Mark, the man with the lab from last night. I guess he had been walking by with his dog and saw the van. He left this card. I am so inspired by the people I am meeting. Theyre inspired by me. How awesome is this. me. Such an incredible feeling to meet other people, other souls out here that want the same out if life. To really live it and sometimes, need to be reminded by another soul passing through their world. So nice to meet you Mark. Thanks for inspiring me and keeping me safe :)
