I sympathize greatly with Nathan Cirillo, who was a peer, a father - TopicsExpress

I sympathize greatly with Nathan Cirillo, who was a peer, a father and guard at our sacred war memorial. His killing can only be described as a cold blooded murder. However Thomas Mulcair is absolutely right that it is not terrorism. At least by our standards thus far, there is no way we CAN call it terrorism. Remember in the summer, Justin Bourque murdered 3 RCMP officers. He was on the loose for days, and most of Moncton was in a state of lockdown. Not only that, Bourque was in fact motivated by radical political views, a confirmed fact. There was no words of terrorism then, nor is Bourque being charged according to any of the provisions of Canadas anti-terror legislation. Yet we are being led to believe by the Harper government, that an ex-convicted drug peddler, current crack smoker and mentally ill person....was a radical Islamist terrorist. As a person who lives in Ottawa, there was some degree of terror....or better described concern. However that was NOT because of the shooting, but because of the ridiculous media response, which repeated rumours as police reported fact. The criminal murdered Cirillo, entered the Parliament building, and took dozens of shots. Yet for the better part of the day, the media was claiming there had been shootings at the Rideau Centre, University of Ottawa and anywhere from 1-2 gunmen on the run. This stressed some people out, but it was all untrue. This label of terrorism is being used to PASS LEGISLATION, which TAKES AWAY OUR PRIVACY AND FREEDOMS. Its a farce.
